Big thanks to Madeline Sloan who nominated me for week nineteen.
Q: What is the working title of your book?
A: LOOSIANA~LAND OF PASSION
Q: Where did the idea come from for the book?
A: This was a natural progression from AT FIRST GLANCE, since Jenny (heroine) and Doug (hero) just finished an OP working with the FBI on the Drug Cartel problems in Mexico. LOOSIANA~LAND OF PASSION is involved with an OP concerning the Bounty problem with the Saints and other NFL teams. New Orleans seemed a wonderful location for Jenny and Doug’s newlywed frolics whilst tending to the espionage necessary to learn the details of the Bounty system which they follow while putting their lives in danger.
Q: What genre does your book fall under?
A: Fiction~Contemporary Romantic Suspense
Q: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
A: David Boreanaz (Seely Booth of Bones) would be Douglas Campbell Nelson, FBI Agent/CPA
Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan of Once Upon A Time) would be Jennifer (Jenny)Lee Stewart Nelson, Freelance Writer/Author
Q: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A: One Super Attractive, Well-Built hunk FBI Agent who recently married a gorgeous, red-haired perfectly built woman go to South Louisiana to find whether or not the Bounty System is a part of the Saints’ Football Team and find the Plantation and surroundings only spur their sexual appetites for one another while trying to stay one step ahead of the Mafia who could be funding the Bounty System.
Q: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
A: It is being published by Publish America.
Q: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
A:Five months, though the idea for this sequel has been in the back of my mind since AT FIRST GLANCE was published December of last year when the Bounty problem reared its’ ugly head (or bashed it more properly).
Q: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
A: Similar theme to Bones series by Kathy Reich as far as the FBI Agent working with the specialist in her field, which in that case is a forensic scientist and my heroines’ case is a free lance writer. They work hand in glove together, complimenting one another for the cause of the public at large and more specifically, those involved directly in the case.
Q: Who or What inspired you to write this book?
A: My fascination of the FBI and what they do and can do. I have always wanted to be a part of the FBI but felt it selfish of me as a woman who would have been away from my first responsibility in this life-time…..family and children. However, if I’d been a man, that would have been my first choice for a career. Melding a partner into the melee was an easy fit since so many couples find themselves in their 40’s suddenly alone and seeking another partner. In AT FIRST GLANCE Doug and Jenny “find” one another for a perfect blend in their personal lives as well as their professional lives……… LOOSIANA~LAND OF PASSION continues their love affair with one another and their shared work.
Q: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
A: Real places in and around Baton Rouge and New Orleans including restaurants, places to buy really cool clothes, places to fish, hunt or just plain walk and of course the Superdome, now dubbed the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Once a sad place, and though it was the refuge location for those left behind during Katrina, I don’t even broach this subject since what I would want to say would fill several books…..none of which lends itself to this story which is written instead to take us away from reality, though touching it just a wee bit on the fringe of life styles which we read about but rarely ourselves imbibe in directly.
I do feel that any reader who loves a good romance laced with bits of suspense and a piquing of their salivary glands will enjoy LOOSIANA~LAND OF PASSION. The romance is XXX rated, the food is detailed, the drinks explained and the skullduggery is scary……something for all our senses.
